Get To Know Your Couple

It’s so important to warm up your couple a little bit before shooting them, especially if you’ve never met before! A lot of us book our sessions by using social media and while you can get to know someone pretty well before actually meeting them, you won’t get a sense of what kind of relationship they have until interacting with them both.

So grab a drink or a cup of coffee beforehand! Ask them about themselves, how they met, what makes them laugh.

If you don’t have time to meet up before, even just the short walk to the shooting location will put them a little more at ease. I always keep my camera in my bag for the first 10 minutes to simply talk to them and remind them that I’m just a regular person and there’s nothing to worry about!
