Oktoberfest with Buoy Beer at the Astoria Armory
There’s just something about community events that makes me fall in love with photography all over again. The laughter, the clinking of steins, the live music echoing through the Astoria Armory. It’s the kind of energy you can’t fake.
This year’s Oktoberfest, hosted by Buoy Beer Company, was everything you’d hope for and more. Pretzels, local food vendors, collab brews, and a crowd that showed up ready to celebrate the season in true Astoria, Oregon style.
The day was packed with live music from Get Down Moses, Left on Tenth, and Mr. Vale’s Math Class, plus food from local favorites Gaetano’s Market & Deli, Nascent Bread, and Frite & Scoop. Buoy teamed up with Threshold Beer for some fun collaborations, and everywhere you looked, people were raising glasses and smiling. My camera barely left my hands. This is exactly why I do what I do. Events like this are living proof that community is the heartbeat of the Oregon Coast.
If you’re a brewery, restaurant, or local business hosting an event, having it professionally photographed isn’t just about great pictures. It’s about capturing the experience, the atmosphere, the faces, the story behind it all.
Photos like these become your marketing goldmine. They help you promote next year’s event, fill your social media feed, and connect with the people who want to be there next time. You can’t fake that kind of authenticity. When potential guests see real people having fun, laughing over steins, dancing, and enjoying your space, they picture themselves there. That’s what sells tickets and builds long-term loyalty.
As an event photographer based in Astoria, Oregon, I specialize in capturing the candid, film-inspired moments that make every event feel alive. From community festivals and brewery launches to live music nights and private celebrations, my goal is to help local businesses market themselves through storytelling visuals that actually feel like them.
