Where to Eat (and Drink) Right Now:
A Love Letter to the PNW’s Best Food & Hospitality
Hi, I’m Chelsea—and I’m the kind of person who plans road trips around where we’re going to eat. I’ve always believed the best way to get to know a place is through its food, its drinks, and the people behind them. Whether it’s a perfect cocktail at a low-lit bar, a breakfast sandwich that somehow hits just right, or the cozy hum of a dining room at golden hour—I’m in it for the atmosphere, the experience, and the soul of a space.
After over a decade as a photographer (mostly weddings, until I fully pivoted into brand and hospitality photography), I’ve fallen hard for working with restaurants, bars, and boutique hotels. There’s something magical about capturing a business while it’s doing its thing—plates flying out of the kitchen, light bouncing off cocktails, regulars chatting at the bar. These moments are full of life, and I want to help bring that energy online.
That’s where this new blog series comes in.
What is Where to Eat (and Drink) Right Now?
This series is my way of spotlighting the small businesses that are quietly (or not-so-quietly) making the Pacific Northwest a better, tastier, more welcoming place. It’s part visual guide, part love letter, and 100% focused on the atmosphere, energy, and intention that make a business unforgettable.
I’ll be sharing photos and stories from each place I visit—highlighting not just what’s on the plate or in the glass, but also the people, the history, and the moments that make it special.
You won’t find star ratings or ranking lists here. This isn’t about being the “best of”—it’s about showing up for the businesses that are doing something real and doing it well. Most of these are small teams with big hearts, and if I can help a few more people find them? That’s the goal.
Who This Is For (Besides Me)
If you’re someone who:
loves discovering local gems and hidden coastal spots,
prefers craft beer and oysters over fast food and franchises,
believes vibe matters just as much as flavor,
and gets excited about supporting small businesses doing cool sh*t—
Then this series is for you.
Whether you’re looking for where to eat in Raymond, where to drink in Long Beach, or where to stay in Seaview, I hope this gives you something new to bookmark—and helps a few incredible businesses get the recognition they deserve.
